DreamHack Open 2018 Announcement

DreamHack Open pro-am circuit to return in 2018, featured across 8 DreamHack festivals
Today DreamHack is proud to announce for the 7th year, the DreamHack Open esports circuit will continue. DreamHack Open was launched in 2012 and will have now awarded over three million USD to hundreds of the World’s best pro-gamers. In 2018 the circuit will be featured at eight DreamHack events, with CS:GO being the primary title to be played.

In 2017 DreamHack saw huge growth in the North American market, adding additional events and we are tremendously excited to continue to visit Atlanta, Austin and Montreal. For each event featuring CS:GO the format will remain similar, with open qualification, direct invitations, a $100,000 prize pool and professional broadcast. DreamHack Leipzig will feature Rocket League as the primary title instead of CS:GO, and for 2018 we aim to feature different games and diversify DreamHack Open.

“2017 was a great year for DreamHack Open, where the tournament reached both record breaking viewership and worked as the springboard for major champions to prove themselves,” said Marc Winther, Project Manager of DreamHack Open, “For 2018 we are excited to build on that success, as well as introduce more titles to DreamHack Open when it makes sense.”
