DreamHack and ASTRO Gaming are joining forces in 2017 to bring gamers from around the world 9 live events with $900,000 in prize money.
DreamHack ASTRO Open in 2017 will feature the popular team-based FPS Counter-Strike: Global Offensive with $100,000 in prize money and 8 top teams competing at each event. In total DreamHack ASTRO Open will take place at 9 gaming festival events across Europe and North America, as DreamHack continues the US expansion, with new festival events in Denver and Atlanta. The action begins this coming weekend in Leipzig, Germany at DreamHack Leipzig running from January 13-15th.
“DreamHack Open is DreamHack’s longest running esports property. In 2017 it will be our biggest year ever, with 9 live events, all featuring CS:GO and four of which in North America,” said Michael Van Driel, Chief Product Officer at DreamHack AB, “Thanks to ASTRO’s support we’ll be able to continue to level up our livestream production and experience onsite for visitors and competitors. Launched in 2012, DreamHack’s premier esports circuit has awarded over $2.2 million in prize money to gamers and is one of the longest running esports tournament circuits in the world.
